Holiday Picture

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love all the decorating, shopping, baking, giving, and, of course, receiving. It is so much fun buying presents for friends and family. I also love to bake Christmas cookies and decorate the tree. In my house we have four Christmas trees; one in the living room, the kitchen, my little sister's room, and in my room. I chose this picture as holiday inspiration because it reminds me of holiday fun. I think the Christmas tree is beautiful and the greeting on it is prefect for the holiday spirit. Christmas is defiantly my favorite holiday in the whole year.

Winter

Winter and I have sort of a love-hate relationship. I like the snow when it first comes down, but then it gets ugly and dirty. When the pretty white snow turns black and gross, that is when I start dreading winter. I, of course, like winter because that is the season when Christmas comes. My favorite memory of winter is when my dad and I used to sled down the hill in our backyard. I also have a bunch of memories of Christmas with my family at my grandparents house in Peru. There are just so many memories it is hard to put them all in writing. All and all I think that winter is okay, I am just glad I don’t live way up North where the winters are really harsh.

Newcast Experience

This past week in computer class we have been working on our group newscast project. I was in a group with Maggie and Megan. My topic was travel myths, I took the top ten travel myths and did news report on them. Throughout this project I learn about what career I should not go into. I am absolutely horrible at reading my newscast without messing up in front of the camera. I had a lot of fun working on this project and would like to do another one to work on my newscaster skills.

Things I am Thanksul For.....

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it makes me think of all the things that I am thankful for in my life. Some things that I am most thankful for is my family and my friends. My family is very supportive and they are always there for me. My friends can always make me laugh, so therefore it makes my day better, which I am thankful for that. I am also thankful for my house, clothes, and food. This Thanksgiving I am going to make sure my parents know how much I appreciate them and how thankful I am for them giving me the life I have.

Political Cartoon!!!!!

I chose this cartoon because I thought it was true. George W. Bush did deliver many problems to the United States. The point of humor in this cartoon is that George W. Bush is a bell boy, like at a hotel, and he is delivering suitcases full of problems to the United States.

My Invention

If I could invent anything in the world I would invent a teleport machine. I would invent this so that you could anywhere you want in just a matter of seconds. My teleport machine would be a elevator and you would step into it and type in your destination into the computer, inside the elevator-teleporter. Then you would press a big pink button and the machine would teleport you and your family and luggage to where ever you wanted to go. This machine would be great because then you wouldn't need to waste so much time on travel. I would call this machine of mine, The Televator. I would sell this machine so that I could make a profit so that I won't have to live in my friends garage. My invention is sort of unrealistic but most of th great inventions of the world started off as just a thought in someone's mind.

Newscast Project

For my newscast project I am in a group with Maggie and Megan. For my report I am doing a human-interest piece. I am reporting on travel myths. I chose this topic because I love to travel and anything that has to do with making traveling more enjoyable sparks my interests. For my report I am planning on interviewing people on if they think the travel myths are true or false. Some of the myths are sort of silly and some are also serious. I think my newscast will turn out great.

Inspirational Photo

This is a picture of my sister and I. We are ten years apart and very close. This picture is inspirational to me because it makes me want to be a better sister to her. To not get so mad at her and have more patience when we do stuff together. I want to be a better sister to her because I am the only sister she has and I want us to always stay close, as we grow older. That is why this picture is inspirational to me.

Podcast : HALLOWEEN

This past week in Introduction to Technology we are making a pod cast about our favorite scary movie. For my pod cast I chose the movie Halloween made in 1978. I chose this movie because it is one of my all time favorite scary movies ever. I think Halloween has the best theme song ever; it is so ire and it sends chills down your back before the movie even starts. Here is the trailer for the 1978 horror movie Halloween.

10 Things I Would Like To Do In My Lifetime

1. Visit and explore Europe. I would like to do this because I think it would be cool to experience what life is like for the Europeans.

2. Be on the Amazing Race. I would like to do this because it sounds like fun to go all over the world and do crazy and unordinary things.

3. Drive a Ferrari. Even though I do not have a permit or license someday I would like to drive a Ferrari 430 Scuderia on the Autobahn or wherever.

4. Go to the Monza or Monaco Formula 1 race. I would like to do this because it would be awesome to see Ferrari race on their home track or on the very eloquent street circuit in Monte Carlo.

5. Go to New York City. I would like to go to New York City because it is a big, fabulous city and I would love to go on a huge shopping spree there.

6. Become a yoga instructor. I would like to do this because yoga is very calming and I think it would be fun to talk in a calm voice all the time.

7. Dye my hair blonde. I would like to do this because I think it would be totally crazy to see myself as a blonde because it is so different than my hair color now.

8. Go to a big movie premiere. I would like to do this because I think it would be cool to see a big movie before it hits the theaters.

9. Design, build, and decorate my own house. I would like to do this because my house would be just the way I want it and I could say that this was all in my brain.

10. Help the homeless children all over the world. I would like to do this because I really would like to help the less fortunate children of the world.

Peoria Logo

My first choice for the new Peoria logo is the classic black logo. It has Peoria written between two lines, with the city on the top of the line. I choice this logo because it is a classic logo, the city really looks like downtown Peoria and it has the established date on it. My second choice for the new Peoria logo is the logo with Peoria written in a red wave with a blue city on top of it. My third choice for the new Peoria logo is the logo with Peor!a written like so, it also has the city outlined on it. Those are my choices for logos.

Halloween Costume

My favorite Halloween costumes would have to be when I dressed up as Minnie Mouse when I was four. My mom made it, I had a white and pink polka dot dress, mouse ears, white gloves ,and my mom did my make-up. I don't remember getting more candy because of my costume, but I was in a Halloween costume contest. I didn't win the contest but I should have. This year for Halloween my friends and I are dressing up as the spice girls. I am going to Baby Spice, Sadie is Scary Spice, Savannah is Ginger Spice, Heather is Posh Spice, and Allison is Sporty Spice. I can tell this Halloween is going to be great because not only is it on a friday, but it is also going to be fun because I am dressing up with my friends.

iPhoto Name Project

This week in Intro to Technology we are using iPhoto on the MAC computers. We are taking pictures of things that look like letters of our name. The catch is we can not take pictures of actual letters, we have to take pictures of things that look like letter but are actually not letters. With our pictures we are making a slide show with a song that matches our personality. We have to have 20 slides total, we are also putting in pictures of us and things that describe us. So far I have all of my photos, and am now deciding on a song. I had alot of fun finding letters and taking pictures. All and all I have had a really good time making my slideshow!

Mod Squad @ Cocktail Hour!!!

One night my friend, Savannah, and I were bored so we decided to throw a cocktail party. We dressed up like Audrey Hepburn in the sixties and made our own cocktails (fake cocktails of course)!!!

Progress On Our Newsletter.......

This past week in computer class we have been working very hard on our newsletter "ND NATION". We have chose our final layout and are finishing our articles. Once again, I am writing about twin day, Maggie is writing about class color day, Megan is writing about the spirit day, and Jaycee is writing about grade school/college day. We have gotten some great pictures, along with some very great ideas. We are draining every bit of creativity out of our minds and putting it into this project. We are very pleased with it and we hope you will be too.

Physical / Athletic Goal

This week in computer class we are suppose to set a physical or athletic goal for ourselves. My physical goal is to get into better shape and become healthier. I would like to get into better shape, so that I don’t get so tried out just from walking a mile. I would also like to be healthier, so that later in life I don’t have health problems. I am going to accomplish this goal by eating healthier and to start exercising more. My mother and I are going to join the Riverplex so that we can both get into better shape. I think my exercising and eating healthier I will accomplish my goal.

Newsletter Project

This week at Peoria Notre Dame High School it is Homecoming week. With all the festivities going on around the school, this week in computer class we are making a newsletter to document all of the events. My group’s newsletter is called “ND NATION “, my group members include Maggie, Megan, and Jaycee. The article I am writing is about twin day. Maggie is writing about class color day. Megan is writing about the spirit day. And last but not least, Jaycee is writing about grade school/college day. In our articles we will be telling about what is entitled with each day; the dress code, fun stuff, etc., and then we will put pictures in to show how the students showed their school spirit. Our newsletters are due next week, so wish us luck!

My Intellectual Goal

My intellectul goal is to get better grades and raise my GPA. I chose this goal because I get pretty average grades, the only year I got straight A's was in the second grade, and I am sick of just getting by. I want to make the honor roll and get a GPA higher than 3.0. So that in the future I can get into a good college and therfore get a good job. To accomplish this goal I am gonna study harder and take more notes. I am also gonna listen and pay attention more in class so that I understand everything that is going on. Come time for the first report card of the year I hope to have all A's and B's, then I will know if I have accomplished my intellectual goal.

My Emotional Goal

I am a very emotional person, which I guess is a good thing because it means you are just human like everyone else. We all make mistakes and cry every now and then. I would have to say my emotional goal is with my parents, to let them see the world as I see it. To have them see what I go through on an everyday basis. For them to see how I deal with school, grades, friendships, and current events. I plan on making this goal happen by talking with them more about what is going on in my life and tell them about the decisions that I have made.

Keynote Song Project

In technology class we are making a storyboard-keynote presentation. Keynote is MAC's version of powerpoint but different. In our keynote projects we are suppose to pick a song and make a storyboard about it, because later on we are going to make a movie about the song that we have picked. For my storyboard I chose the song Revolution orginally sung by the Beatles, but for my storyboard I chose the Jim Sturgess version from Across the Universe. In my storyboard I have pictures that go along with the lyrics that pop up and I also have fun transitions throughout my storyboard. I really enjoyed this project and had alot of fun picking a song and coming up with pictures and ways to make my storyboard interesting.

Saint Project

This week in Introduction to Technology we are making a powerpoint presentation about a saint that we have chosen. We are making a presentation to further our skills with the MAC and to learn about our saint. We will be presenting these projects next monday, the seventeenth. For my project I chose Saint Cecilia. I chose Saint Cecilia because she was my confirmation saint, and therefore my favorite saint. She is the saint of music, musicians, martyrs, musical instrument makers, poets, and singers. Since I love music and play a little guitar, I figured she was the saint for me.

HALLOWEEN!!!!

OMG! My friends and I are totally dressing up as the Spice Girls for Halloween! I am going to be Baby Spice. Savannah is going to be Ginger Spice. Sadie is going to be Scary Spice. Heather is going to be Posh Spice, and Allison is going to be Sporty Spice!

My Spiritual Goal

My spirtual goal is to try to attend church more offen on Sundays. My life is pretty hectic and I don't have alot of spiritual time. My mother is catholic and my father is lutheran and we only really go to church like once a month and on christmas. Although I do attend church during school hours, I also would like to attend church on the actual "holy day". So I am going to try my hardest to reach this goal that I have set for myself. I have a very spiritual best friend named Savannah, her father works for the Catholic Diosease of Peoria, so they are very insync with their spirituality. I will be joining my friend and her family at church more often.

My experience in Computer Class.

My first two weeks of Intro to Technology have been interesting. I have learned alot and am a bit confused about the whole MAC idea. You see, I have a Dell and I am a master at it. I know where everything is and it is alot more simpler to me than MACs. But in class I have learned a great deal of stuff. I have learned to use pages, keynote, and numbers. I have made spreadsheets, written an essay, and am working on a slide show presentation. I have also made a blog, this very blog that I am blogging on. Haha, well anyway computer class has been fun so far.
